Quote of the Day, part XLIV

Me, during Family Home Evening: "How can we repent of 'persecuting your brother'?"
William: "Pick me! I just barely did it!"

Jacob, when I showed him the twin coverlet I had purchased for his bed right before we moved:
"I like that. Whoa, wait! Are we really going to get beds that big?"
Me, thinking that this boy has been sleeping on a camping cot on the floor for entirely too long.
This move didn't come a day too early!

Want To See Something Gross?

So now when one of the kids says they're thirsty, I'm going to start saying, "You need a drink? Dishwasher's open. You know where to get it."

i have nothing to add to the first two comments. they say it all. i love the watching and allowing it to happen while admitting it is really gross.

That's nothing, all of my munchkins have licked and slurped their dehydrated bodies back to health on the dishwasher door at one time or another. I'm just glad that that is the grossest thing you have seen your kids do. Picture: Baby...diaper off...poopies...crib... yuck!

Oh, that's not the grossest thing I've seen them do by any stretch of the imagination. I just don't usually take the time to grab my camera and document it for the ages. I love how Jacob's rubbing Grey's head at the end like it was his lucky penny.

On Friday I was on the phone when I heard distant splashing sounds. I turned the corner and there Cohen was, splashing in the toilet, then sticking his sloppy hand into his mouth. Oh yes. You know, it's all about being thankful for the little things, like the fact that THIS TIME as he was doing it there was no pee in it {yes, he's done it with pee toilets before}, and even during the pee-toilet episodes, I can be thankful that there was no poop in the toilet {the stuff stuck on the sides doesn't count}.

Here to bring a smile to your beautiful face. :-)
