Quote of the Day, part XLIV

Me, during Family Home Evening: "How can we repent of 'persecuting your brother'?"
William: "Pick me! I just barely did it!"

Jacob, when I showed him the twin coverlet I had purchased for his bed right before we moved:
"I like that. Whoa, wait! Are we really going to get beds that big?"
Me, thinking that this boy has been sleeping on a camping cot on the floor for entirely too long.
This move didn't come a day too early!

Takin' Taiwan

As you know, gentle readers, two of my brothers have been in Taiwan serving 2-year church missions: Pietr in the north, Adam in the south.  It is unusual for two brothers to go to the same place at the same time, and they have loved it.  Here's one reason why...

Adam
4/4/11:  There is a boy that Pietr taught several times in Taibei that got referred down here!  He said he had met with the missionaries there a couple times before coming back south for school.  I asked him where in Taibei and he told me Shi Lin!  I couldn't believe it.  I asked him who the missionaries there were and he said "it is actually rather strange, he was also named shen zhang lao."  Yeah, that is certainly a miracle.  He (his name is Joseph Lin) is a very smart kid.  He has been going to various Christian churchs with friends and such, and though he says he has felt the spirit/God's influence, he says he is not sure from what source it is coming.  I asked him a lot of questions to understand [him] and in following lessons we focused on his concerns.  Our last lesson was especially intense... One of the most epic lessons of my mission.
4/18/11:  Joseph, the boy I told you about that Pietr taught, passed his interview this week with flying colors and will be baptized next week.
